Department of Physics, DIPPER Lab Collaborates on Smart Traffic Assessment in Ayawaso West Wuogon
The College of Science, through its Department of Physics, has partnered with the DIPPER Lab at the College of Engineering to undertake a preliminary assessment of traffic conditions in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
The assessment follows discussions between the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. John Dumelo, and the Scientific Director of the DIPPER Lab, Prof. Eric Tutu Tchao, on harnessing KNUST's research expertise to develop innovative solutions to developmental challenges within the constituency.
The initiative reflects the College of Science's commitment to translating research into practical solutions that improve lives. By combining the Department of Physics' expertise in electronics with the DIPPER Lab's strengths in the Internet of Things (IoT), distributed systems, and adaptive control technologies, the collaboration seeks to develop smart, sustainable traffic management solutions that can benefit local communities.
The joint Department of Physics–DIPPER Lab team comprises Prof. Eric Tutu Tchao, Prof. Reuben TAMAKLOE, Dr. Andrew Selasi Agbemenu, Dr. Michael Kweku Edem Donkor, and Dr. Henry Nunoo-Mensah.
