Emeritus Professor Francis Boakye

We congratulate Professor Francis Boakye on his appointment to Emeritus status, honouring his remarkable career and lasting contributions to the field of materials science. Professor Boakye has established himself as a prominent figure in the study of thin films and their applications, making significant strides in understanding material properties and their potential uses in technology. His pioneering research has advanced our knowledge of thin film physics and opened new avenues for technological innovation.

Associate Professor Isaac Nkrumah: Promoted from Senior Lecturer to Associate Professor

Dr. Isaac Nkrumah's promotion to Associate Professor recognises his outstanding research contributions and dedicated service since joining the Department of Physics at KNUST as a Lecturer in 2009. Following his promotion to Senior Lecturer in 2014, Dr. Nkrumah has continued to excel in his multifaceted research portfolio.

Dr. Nkrumah's research interests span several critical areas of materials science and renewable energy:

Dr. Christiana Subaar: Promoted from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer

Dr. Christiana Subaar's promotion to Senior Lecturer acknowledges her innovative contributions at the intersection of nuclear science, medical physics, and artificial intelligence. Her interdisciplinary approach addresses critical challenges in radiation safety and medical imaging.

Dr. Subaar's academic interests encompass:

  • Radiation Safety and Pathophysiology: Understanding the biological effects of radiation exposure and developing comprehensive safety protocols
  • Nuclear Medicine Applications: Advancing diagnostic and treatment modalities through nuclear science principles
