AOCIQ Conference 2026 Brouchure
Welcome Address by HOD On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is both a pleasure and a privilege to welcome you to the African International Conference on Quantum Computing and Simulation, held under the theme Quantum for Impact: Fostering Education, Research, and Collaboration Toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Several decades ago, when I enrolled in the Department of Physics at KNUST to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Physics, quantum mechanics was the subject we all dreaded. Its core principles—superposition, entanglement, and the uncertainty principle-seemed abstract and impenetrable. As Niels Bohr once remarked: “Anyone who does not have a headache after their first encounter with quantum mechanics clearly has not understood a thing!”
