Strengthening Academic Ties: KNUST Signs MoU with the University of Bonn at Rectorate Office
On March 13, 2025, Ghanaian representatives from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University Energy Natural Resources and University of Education. Winniba had the privilege of meeting the University of Bonn rectorate in Germany to sign an MoU with KNUST.
The discussions centered on strengthening academic partnerships between Ghanaian Universities and German Universities/Centres with the commencement of an MoU between KNUST and the University of Bonn, given the renowned research excellence in physics, mathematics, and the natural sciences. As part of Germany’s Excellence Strategy, the University of Bonn is committed to advancing cutting-edge research and promoting global academic collaborations, including partnerships with institutions across Africa.
Key matters discussed within the MoU implementation included
- student exchange programs,
- internships,
- joint projects, and
- access to resources such as HPC, equipment and others.
All these align with UNESCO’s mandate for international cooperation in education and scientific development.
We are excited about the discussions held during this meeting and look forward to building on this collaboration.
